Pay rate: £14.20ph 
Hours: Monday-Friday, 8:30am-3:30pm
Contract: Temporary to Permanent

Term time only 

We are recruiting on behalf of a specialist education establishment that is seeking an organised and personable Receptionist to join its friendly team in a varied front-of-house team.

As the first point of contact for visitors, clients and external stakeholders, you'll play a key role in ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the office while delivering high-quality administrative support. This is a busy and varied position, ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in providing an excellent customer experience.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Welcome visitors to the centre, providing a friendly and professional first impression.
  • Manage the reception area, handling enquiries in person, over the phone and via email.
  • Register students onto the internal management system, ensuring records are accurate and up to date.
  • Monitor daily attendance, check-ins, sign-ins and absences, maintaining accurate records.
  • Liaise confidently with internal and external stakeholders
  • Prepare and distribute correspondence and communications where required.
  • Provide administrative support to the wider team, including document preparation, data entry, filing and scanning.
  • Take minutes during meetings and assist with general office administration.
  • Maintain office supplies and support the smooth day-to-day running of the reception area.
  • Maintain confidential records in accordance with GDPR requirements.
  • Support the wider team with ad hoc administrative duties as required.

We're looking for someone who is:

  • Experienced in an administrative, reception or customer-facing role.
  • The successful candidate must be available to start at the end of August. 
  • Friendly, approachable and confident communicating with a wide range of people.
  • The successful candidate will be subject to an enhanced DBS check. 
  • Highly organised with excellent attention to detail.
  • Able to manage multiple tasks and prioritise a busy workload.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and comfortable learning new systems.
  • Professional, discreet and experienced in handling confidential information.
  • An excellent communicator with strong written and verbal communication skills.

Experience within an education, school, childcare or care setting would be advantageous, as would experience using attendance management systems, although this is not essential as training will be provided.
