Procurement Officer

Monday to Friday 9:00 – 17:00
Start date: 9th September 2024


Harper Recruitment are working alongside a local authority to hire for a temporary Procurement Officer who will manage procurement processes from start to finish.

What will the role involve:

  • Working under the Senior Procurement Officer to oversee procurement processes for low risk and low/medium value
  • Developing and finalising service specifications
  • Leading procurement processes for the letting of contracts for the supply of goods & services to meet the requirements for the local authority
  • Upholding best procurement practices for corporate and departmental customers
  • Reporting on supplier spend to ensure value for money & remaining competitive
  • Complying with statutory requirements

Who are we looking for:
 
  • A CIPS membership or relevant experience
  • Professional procurement experience within the Public Sector
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Negotiation skills
  • Experience in using purchase order & e-procurement systems
Additional information – This role is a temporary contract for 3 months but is highly likely to be extended to March 2025. The role has potential for Hybrid working but you would need to be in the office on a Tuesday & Wednesday.
