Pensions Specialist
Lincoln/Hybrid
£23.03 per hour
Monday-Friday 8.30 am – 4.30 pm
Contract: 02/09/2024 – 31/01/2025
The successful candidate will work closely with Payroll, HR administrators, and the Pensions Manager to provide a comprehensive pension service to all employees of a large organisation. The offices are based in Lincoln, but we will consider hybrid/remote work for the right candidate.
Duties include:
- Acting as a Pensions Expert to the Management Team and providing support and assistance to all team members
- To provide timely provision of all estimates, pensionable pay, additional year, contribution levels, effects of planned changes. Application processes, opting in and out of the scheme, leaving the scheme and regulations.
- To provide appropriate responses to high-level complex queries via telephone, written and email
- To co-ordinate the Auto re-enrolment process, ensuring accurate and timely management, and statutory compliance
- Acting as a local resource for expert/specialist knowledge of all aspects of pensions
- Maintaining accurate records and preparing written communications to obtain information and in response to queries
- Processing all pensions data including variable deductions and payments, new starters and leavers including retirement, and the maintenance of complex pensions-related data and information
- Processing pension data to meet monthly and yearly deadlines
- Processing pensions forms including opt in and outs, AVC and APC requests
- Attending meetings with pension scheme representatives
- Keep up to date with all changes to pensions schemes and regulations
- Ensure that documentation is maintained in respect of all employees
Who are we looking for?:
- Recognised Pension qualification, or NVQ Level 4 diploma or equivalent level of experience
- Extensive experience and knowledge of Local Government / Teachers / Fire Pension Scheme rules and regulations
- Significant experience of pensions in the use of computerised payroll/pension systems
- Detailed expert knowledge of pensions and benefits along with stakeholder and AVC pensions schemes
- Excellent communication skills; able to communicate highly complex and sensitive pay and pension information to all levels of staff
- Be able to plan and manage workload effectively as priorities frequently change
- Self-motivated, proactive and highly accurate
- Highly developed analytical skills
