Harper Recruitment Group are working in partnership with a well-established and growing organisation based in Nottingham, who are seeking an experienced Management Accountant to join their team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is a key role within the finance function, offering responsibility for financial reporting, analysis, and team leadership.
The Role
Reporting to the Managing Director, you will take ownership of financial performance reporting and support the wider business with accurate management information, forecasting, and analysis. You will also lead and support a small finance team, helping to drive continuous improvement across the department.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare monthly management accounts and financial KPI reporting
• Manage cash flow, budgeting, and forecasting activities
• Produce year-end accounts
• Analyse gross profit performance and key financial data
• Prepare statutory returns including VAT and other HMRC submissions
• Support continuous improvement of financial systems and processes
• Provide cover across key finance functions when required
• Liaise with external auditors during year-end processes
About You
• AAT / ACCA / CIMA qualified or equivalent (part-qualified or qualified)
• Proven experience in a finance leadership or supervisory role
• Strong technical accounting knowledge across monthly and annual reporting
• Experience using Sage 200 or similar accounting systems
• Advanced Excel and strong analytical skills
• Excellent communication and organisational abilities
