As the business continues to grow, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an IT Sales Team Manager to take ownership of the Business Development and Sales function and play a pivotal role in driving new business activity across telecoms, VoIP solutions and IT managed services. The role will focus on generating new opportunities, managing targeted campaigns and developing a high-performing sales team within a fast-paced technology environment.
This is a high-impact role responsible for leading from the front, setting the strategic direction for the Sales Team, and building a function that consistently strengthens pipeline performance, increases service adoption and supports long-term commercial growth.
This position is ideal for a hands-on, commercially minded sales leader who thrives in a fast-paced environment and wants to make a measurable difference from day one.
Key responsibilities:
• Leading the sales strategy across outbound activity, targeted campaigns and new business generation within telecoms, VoIP services and IT managed services
• Managing and motivating a team of Business Development/Telesales Executives to achieve individual and team targets • Conducting regular one-to-ones, team meetings and performance reviews • Coaching team members on sales technique, objection handling and call quality
• Overseeing recruitment, onboarding and induction of new team members #
Managing underperformance through structured plans and development pathways
• Setting KPIs including call volumes, talk time and appointments booked • Monitoring daily, weekly and monthly performance against targets and taking corrective action where required
• Driving achievement of departmental sales targets and revenue growth across technology service lines
• Analysing sales data and pipeline reports to identify trends, gaps and opportunities
• Reporting team performance, forecasts and results to senior management
• Running bespoke projects and targeted sales campaigns for telecoms, VoIP and managed service offerings
• Monitoring call quality through call listening and providing constructive feedback
• Ensuring compliance with scripts, processes and GDPR requirements
• Maintaining accurate CRM records of customer interactions and sales activity
• Developing and implementing sales strategies to maximise new business generation
• Identifying and delivering process improvements to increase efficiency and conversion rates
• Working closely with marketing to align lead generation campaigns with sales capacity
• Keeping up to date with market trends, competitor activity and product knowledge across telecoms and IT services
• Collaborating with internal departments to ensure smooth handover of new business
• Representing the team in wider business meetings and contributing to sales strategy discussions
• Delivering induction and ongoing training on products, systems and sales techniques • Identifying skills gaps and arranging relevant training or development opportunities
• Fostering a positive, high-energy team culture that supports motivation and retention
What we’re looking for:
• Previous experience within a telesales or business development environment
• Proven ability to lead and motivate a sales team
• Must have sold IT and Managed Services products
• Experience or strong interest in telecoms, VoIP solutions or IT managed services
• Strong understanding of KPIs, call quality and sales performance management
• Excellent communication and influencing skills
• Sound Microsoft Office skills, particularly Word, Excel and Outlook • High attention to detail and accuracy
• Ability to multi-task and prioritise effectively • Initiative-taking, enthusiastic and confident
• Strong team player with an assertive approach
