Job Title: Finance Technician

Hours: 08:00 to 16:30, Full Time
Role Overview:
Harper Recruitment is looking for a Finance Technician to join a local authority to work within Financial Services on a temporary contract. The role will involve providing financial support and will require answering queries.
Main duties of role:
- Working as part of a team within Financial Services to receive communications from internal and external customers
- Provide financial support and advice for specific areas of Bank Reconciliation and VAT functions
- Providing financial information to team members to support the statutory requirement regarding annual closure of accounts
- Providing information to assist Freedom of Information requests in a timely manner
- Attending and contributing to monthly meetings
Required knowledge and skills:
- Excellent customer service and communication
- Ability to work to deadlines
- Attention to detail
- Strong I.T skills
- Desirable to understand financial procedures including Bank reconciliation, Financial Statements and Auditing Procedures or experience working at a junior level within an Accountancy or Finance Team
