They are looking for a Graduate Assistant Accountant to support the finance team with month?end reporting, reconciliations, VAT, stock, and commercial analysis. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated graduate looking to build a career within management accounts in a commercial environment.

What will the role involve?

• Supporting the preparation of accurate month?end management accounts

• Assisting with weekly stock takes and stock management, including adjustments and analysis

• Posting monthly prepayments and accruals journals

• Posting general journals as required

• Reviewing overheads to ensure accuracy and correct allocation

• Completing month?end bank reconciliations

• Daily cash posting

• Preparing monthly balance sheet reconciliations

• Maintaining tight reporting deadlines

• Preparing and submitting monthly VAT returns

• Updating and maintaining the Fixed Asset Register

• Assisting with preparation of cash flow forecasts

• Producing key sales and production reports daily, weekly and monthly

• Supporting the Lead Management Accountant with ongoing tasks and projects

• Contributing to process improvements across the finance function

• Assisting with the preparation of the annual budget

• Liaising with internal and external stakeholders to support operational needs

• Completing supplier payment runs

• Providing ad?hoc support to the finance department as required

Who are we looking for?

• A recent graduate in Accounting, Finance, Business, Economics or a related discipline

• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and solve problems

• Able to work to strict deadlines in a fast?paced environment

• High level of attention to detail with strong organisational skills

• Process?driven with the ability to challenge existing methods and support improvements

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to prioritise workload

• Confident, motivated and eager to learn within a commercial finance environment

• Strong IT skills including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook

• Interest in progressing with AAT/ACCA/CIMA study support
