Harper Recruitment Group is working in partnership with a successful commercial business based in Nottingham. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Accounts Assistant to join the finance team, where you will be responsible for day-to-day transactional finance and play a key part in supporting month-end processes.

Key responsibilities:

  • Processing purchase ledger invoices and credit notes
  • Reconciling supplier statements and preparing payment runs
  • Raising sales invoices and allocating customer payments
  • Supporting credit control activity when required
  • Completing daily bank reconciliations and posting receipts/payments
  • Assisting with journals, accruals, prepayments and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Supporting P&L analysis and wider month-end tasks
  • General finance administration and communication with suppliers, customers and internal teams

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience in an Accounts Assistant or similar finance role within a commercial environment
  • Strong understanding of purchase ledger, sales ledger and bank reconciliation processes
  • Confident using accounting software and Excel
  • Excellent attention to detail, communication skills and a proactive approach
  • AAT Level 2-3 or equivalent experience preferred but not essential
