Harper Recruitment Group is working in partnership with a successful accountancy business based in Nottingham.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Accounts & Payroll Assistant to join the finance department, where you will be responsible for supporting both accounts and payroll functions, ensuring accurate financial records and compliant payroll processing across multiple clients.


Key responsibilities:

  • Post and reconcile purchase invoices
  • Perform bank and control account reconciliations
  • Prepare and post journals
  • Process payroll for multiple clients
  • Assist with VAT return preparation
  • Support credit control and chase outstanding payments
  • Help prepare trial balances and month-end reports
  • Provide general accounts administration
  • Submit FPS and EPS returns on time
  • Support auto-enrolment and pension processing
  • Complete pension returns and re-declarations

What we’re looking for:
  • AAT qualified or part-qualified (or equivalent experience)
  • Xero experience essential
  • Experience in accounts and/or payroll
  • Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
