Harper Recruitment Group is working in partnership with a successful, growing transport and logistics recruitment business based in Nottingham. An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Office Manager to join their close-knit team.
This is a varied, hands-on role where you will play a key part in the smooth running of the office, overseeing administration, payroll, compliance, credit control and resourcing, whilst also supporting and managing the recruitment team to make commercially sound decisions.
Key responsibilities:
Processing weekly timesheets and dealing with payroll queries and discrepancies
Chasing outstanding PO numbers, timesheet approvals and payments
Managing day-to-day office administration and credit control
Liaising with clients regarding accounts, invoicing and agreed rates
Supporting the recruitment team with daily driver resourcing and ensuring client shifts are fully covered
Managing and supporting the team when the business owners are not in the office
Acting as a point of escalation for client and operational queries
Maintaining strong relationships with clients and drivers
Overseeing driver and candidate compliance, including licences, CPCs, tachographs and other required documentation
Supporting the continued digitisation of office processes and identifying ways to improve efficiency
Participating in an office on-call rota, providing support with out-of-hours queries and staffing requirements
What we’re looking for:
Previous experience in payroll, administration, office management or a similar role
Highly organised with excellent attention to detail
Confident managing people, making decisions and taking ownership
Commercially aware and comfortable discussing rates and financial matters
Confident learning and using Sage or a similar payroll system
Comfortable dealing with clients, candidates and employees
Calm under pressure with the ability to manage competing priorities
Proactive, reliable and solutions-focused
A strong communicator who enjoys working as part of a close-knit team
Previous experience within recruitment, transport or logistics would be advantageous
