Mechanical and Electrical Coordinator

Reporting to: Production Manager

Purpose:

To inspect and test, validate and record all production electrical and/or mechanical offline and assembly installations to ensure that they conform to the current domestic electrical wiring and mechanical (plumbing, heating and ventilation) statutory legislation and Company specifications, standards and operating procedures. To train, educate and certify the production operative contingent in in appropriate methods for all electrical assembly operations in line with the company’s Health & Safety and Quality procedures. To support procurement in scheduling materials from design drawings. Act as Principal Duty Holder under the NIEIC registration scheme.

Principal Accountability:

• To inspect and test, validate and record all production domestic electrical wiring and mechanical (plumbing, heating and ventilation) offline and assembly installations to ensure that they conform to the current electrical statutory legislation and company specifications, standards and operating procedures.
• To train, educate and certify the production operative contingent in appropriate methods for all electrical assembly operations in line with the company’s Health & Safety and Quality procedures. To work closely with the factory managers and supervisors to ensure all production operatives consistently conform to the required standards.
• To record, validate and document all tests performed, label and raise non-conformance documents as required. To ensure that all sub-assembly or assembly non-conformance's are rectified, tested and released in a controlled manner. Inform the factory manager of said releases in a timely manner
• Ensure production operative employees receive appropriate training for the mechanical and/or electrical tasks they are required to perform, completing all paperwork and ensuring that their training matrix is updated.
• To help develop and maintain strong collaboration and communications between departments within the business to deliver needs, ensuring quality and customer service are never compromised
• Ensure that you maintain your skilled trades certifications and awareness of all impending changes to appropriate statutory regulations
• Efficiently completing all product quality paperwork related to production reporting
• Support procurement in scheduling materials from design drawings
• Communicating with other departments in implementing new company policies
• Ensure that the highest operating standards are maintained
• To operate in strict accordance with the company’s systems and procedures
• Demonstrate strict adherence and compliance with clients defined Health, Safety & Environment (HSE) policies and procedures, ensuring that HSE is at the heart of the business culture and that your actions and behaviours in fulfilling your role lead to zero harm and a safe working environment for colleagues and visitors.

Qualifications:

Professional – Electrical:

• Minimum Part P 17th Edition, City & Guilds 2391 inspection, testing and certification
• Minimum GCSE level Math’s, English and Physics
• Train the Trainer qualification
• 3 years Minimum experience performing inspection and test

Professional – Mechanical:

• City & Guilds Level 3 NVQ Diploma in Domestic Plumbing and Heating (Gas Fired Water and Central Heating Appliances
• NICEIC Domestic Ventilation – BPEC
• Minimum GCSE level Math’s, English and Physics
• Train the Trainer qualification
• 3 years Minimum experience performing inspection and test
• Hold Incorporated Engineer (IEng) and Associate Member status
